There are two kinds of PES activists city groups. Some are working groups of PES member parties. They are active on local and regional levels wanting to promote discussion about Europe. Others are expatriate members of different PES member parties wanting to get together and get engaged with local as well as European politics.
PES activists city groups are not a formal structure of the PES. They are a loose network of local groups working for the same aims. The PES activist city groups remain responsible to the respective PES member party or - in the case of expatriate clubs- are sometimes organised as a local association. by connecting to the network, these groups gain a direct communication channel to the PES and to each other.
