Zapatero shows the way for new and strong recovery plan
PES President Poul Nyrup Rasmussen today praised Spanish Socialist Prime Minister José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero for his fresh investments in jobs, education and training and a sustainable economy.
Rasmussen said “Zapatero is showing the way for Europe. This is the kind of smart and forward-looking investment that should be made right across Europe if we are to avoid 27 million unemployed next year in the European Union.”
“The PES has been calling for a new and strong recovery plan for Europe, and Zapatero is doing it in Spain.”
Rasmussen added “I cannot believe that Aznar is blaming the crisis on excessive public spending. It is absolutely ridiculous.”
