PES Congress 2009
PES Congress 2009 will take place on 7-8 December, in Prague, Czech Republic.
The Congress is a major gathering of European socialist and social-democrats. It brings together around 335 delegates from the PES member parties and up to 2,000 participants from member parties and member organizations. The Congress meets twice during each parliamentary term of the European Parliament (five years) and decides on the political orientation of the PES.
Following the success of the PES Councils in 2007 and 2008 and the Congress in 2006, where PES activists were a lively presence that marked a new way of integrating grassroots into European politics, activists are invited to the PES Congress. As a PES activst, you are welcome to attend the plenary sessions, visit the stands and participate on the fringe meetings.
