vaMos comme Vigilance Antimasculiniste Mixte organisée et
Solidaire : il s’agit d’un collectif qui s’est créé spontanément
pour réagir à la tenue du congrès international « Paroles
d'hommes » à Bruxelles réunissant plusieurs masculinistes.
Si vaMos se mobilise, c’est parce que ces défenseurs de « l’ordre
moral » s’attaquent à toutes les avancées sociales obtenues par
différents mouvements, en particulier les combats des
féministes.
Parce que leurs attaques néolibérales mettent en danger les
acquis sociaux actuels (autonomie matérielle, services publics,
liberté de disposer de son corps, etc.), vaMos propose deux
événements pour réagir et débattre :

We face economic
challenges not seen for generations.
This is the time when we must state the case for socialism.
We have a clear decision. We can stand by, and leave the public to pick up the pieces afterwards, in what could be the worst recession since the 1930s.
Or we provide a clear alternative. And here are 5 points for discussion:
- establishment of fixed exchange rates with any fluctuations subject to 95% Tobin tax
- a massive public works program based on harnessing renewable energy sources and transport, bringing existing African-based solar projects forward
- all bank interest rates determined by the ECB or national bank
- bank statutes to contain elected representation and to represent all stakeholders
- immediate implementation of emergency anti-poverty programmes across the EU, including social enterprise and community projects, with emphasis on the young and the elderly
and I'm sure we can think of more...

Le Forum progressiste mondial, qui réunit les forces progressistes de toute la planète, organisera un grand événement les 2 et 3 avril 2009. Des élus et représentants politiques de premier plan des institutions internationales, des syndicats et des organisations non-gouvernementales des différentes régions du monde se réuniront à Bruxelles pour débattre de nos idées et définir un agenda progressiste mondial renouvelé. En effet, notre intention est de renouveler nos efforts pour lutter contre les changements climatiques, la crise alimentaire, énergétique et financière et nous voulons par ailleurs discuter de la façon dont nous pouvons avoir un impact positif sur les travailleurs, le travail décent et la mondialisation.

Coming week will be show again one significant step in international politics and especially in Western Balkans. 1st at its plenary session called for 8th October, the 192-member UN General Assembly is to debate Serbia’s draft resolution calling for an advisory opinion by the International Court of Justice on Kosovo’s unilaterally declared independence. 2nd EU tries again find some common position about Kosovo case and the forecast is that EU member-states will probably abstain from the vote at the UN. 3rd Portugal, Macedonia (FYR) and Montenegro are under huge pressure to recognize Kosovo independence.
UDI and ICJ in UN
Serbia has filed a draft resolution in which it asks from the UN General Assembly to seek an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague on the legality of the unilateral declaration of independence (UDI) of Kosovo. Belgrade has proclaimed two objectives with this initiative. The first, immediate goal is to have the ICJ provide its stand on the UDI and to stop the recognition of Pristina’s act by UN members. The second, mid-term objective is to have Belgrade and Pristina go back to the negotiating table on the status question.

Although Tadic did not specify where the line of partition would run, it is most likely to include the municipalities of Zvecan, Leposavic and Zubin Potok as well as the northern half of the flashpoint town of Mitrovica. This area in northern Kosovo is overwhelming ethnic Serb and Pristina’s influence holds little weight here.
However just half of the 100,000 Serbs living in Kosovo actually live in northern areas while the rest are in isolated enclaves that dot the former province. One should also remember that about 100,000 - 206,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Kosovo is living in Serbia.

Dans le cadre du Conseil du PSE à Madrid, la FEPS - Fondation des
études progressistes socialistes offre aux militants du PSE
l'occasion de participer à une journée d'information et de
formation le 30 novembre 2008.
Le forum s'ouvrira avec un débat sur les "Normes sociales européennes" et comptera avec la participation de Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, de Zita Gurmai et d'Ernst Stetter et il sera suivi de deux sessions de formation: une première session se centrera sur le fonctionnement et le travail du PSE et du Groupe socialiste au Parlement européen; la seconde portera sur "la prise de décision européenne" et visera à expliquer le fonctionnement des institutions de l'UE.
Cette réunion sera une excellente occasion de réunir les
militants du PSE de toute l'Europe, afin qu'ils partagent leurs
expériences et participent comme invités au Conseil du PSE, qui
se déroulera à Madrid les 1 et 2 décembre.
Par ailleurs, le forum incluera également des activités
culturelles comme le “Madrid historical Tour”.

Le City Group PSE de Loire-Atlantique, très actif comme toujours, a participé à la fête de la rose de Préfailles. Karine Daniel, Secrétaire fédérale Europe International, et Cyril Hunault, Délégué Fédéral Europe, ont écrit un post pour partager cet expérience avec Yourspace et ses utilisateurs.
Pour la première fois, les membres actifs du City Group PSE de
Loire-Atlantique se sont organisés pour tenir un stand à la fête
de la rose de Préfailles. Ce stand, approvisionné de documents du
PSE (Parti Socialiste Européen), a été le lieu de rencontres
entre militants intéressés pour vivre leur militantisme
socialiste au niveau Européen, et ce, à la veille d’élections qui
devront voir la gauche progresser en Europe.
La tenue de ce stand a permis de renforcer notre City
Group, puisque plus de 60 militants ont manifesté leur
intérêt pour faire partie de ce groupe, qui sera le relais du PSE
en Loire-Atlantique. Une réunion aura lieu le 30 octobre à 20h00
(au café Villa Flora, cours des 50 otages - Nantes), elle nous
permettra de mieux connaître le PSE, son fonctionnement, ses
actions et de parler des initiatives prioritaires à prendre...

First of all, I introduce myself: my name is Gianfranco, I am 20 and I study Classic Literature in Palermo, Sicily. I have been a member of the Partito Socialista Italiano (PSI) since last year, and I am also coordinator in my city, Bagheria, and member of the Federazione dei Giovani Socialisti.
The
Italian Socialist Party, led by Riccardo Nencini, just organised
a three days event “Socialistinfesta@Mondoperaio” in Vieste, in
the South of Italy.
The PSI: its name is self-explanations, but it is good to underline that it is the only Italian political force which openly declare itself to be inspired by European Socialism’s progressive reformist values.
The title of the event “FUTURE PRESENT! The conflict of ideas” well summarises its theme. A moment for meeting all the forces and reformist spirits, not just the socialist ones, a step for starting building a new political platform able to guarantee to our Country a stable reformist government.

Nous sommes socialistes et donc internationalistes. La paix et le développement doivent être dans les priorités de l'Union. Pour cela il nous faut une politique étrangère européenne et des débats démocratiques sur nos orientations internationales et notre politique de coopération.
L'Europe doit plaider pour le renforcement des instances globales : pour démocratiser les institutions internationales, à coté de l'assemblée générale des Etats, il nous faut proposer une Assemblée des peuples, ou une assemblée parlementaire, réunissant tous les pays. Nous pourrions aussi proposer de réunir une assemblée parlementaire des pays démocratiques et libres (avec élections libres et respect des droits de l'Homme).

Socialists should listen more to genuine public concerns about the impact on public services of migration, UK Immigration Minister Liam Byrne told a fringe meeting at Labour Party conference in Manchester.
He argued that immigration was a fact of globalisation, and that Britain is richer as a result of migration – but that impacts on schools, hospitals and housing were real and that local and national Government must do more to anticipate and deal with these impacts.
Byrne outlined what the Labour Government was doing create a fair and progressive migration policy including independent assessment of the skills needed in the country, a points system for legal migration, a clampdown on illegal immigration (including illegal work and illegal employers), and better planning to anticipate impacts on services. He also said that more needed to be done about integration – especially language acquisition – and that employers would be expected to contribute to language training of migrant staff.

Marek Siwiec, Vice-President of the European Parliament and
member of the Socialist Group in the EP has initiated an action
"Good Bag".
Throughout his constituency in the Wielkopolska region Marek
Siwiec's assistants and members of local bodies of Democratic
Left Alliance (SLD) have been distributing eco bags of the PSE
Group in the EP with attached letters of the MEP and leaflets
with environmental tips.
Also, the inhabitants could take part in a survey and find out
about their Carbon Footprint.
The action, very much liked by the inhabitants, will be conducted
in 30 districts.
